                       Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project(SERAP) has sent an urgent appeal to two UN special rapporteurs urging them to “prevail upon the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to reach an agreement to end the ongoing strike action by ASUU. Thailand's interim parliament has voted to allow the use of medical cannabis while recreational use of the drug remains illegal.   Lawmaker Somchai Sawangkarn said the passing of an amendment to allow medical marijuana in the country "could be considered as a New Year gift to Thais."   "The amendment (on the Narcotics Bill) was passed the second and third readings today. And will become effective once it is published on the Royal Gazette," he said. The National Legislative Assembly's 166 members voted in favor of the change and there were no votes objecting to the motion. There were 13 members who abstained from the vote.   This makes Thailand the first country in Southeast Asia to allow the use of medical marijuana. Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Lagos State University (LASU) Chapter, has demanded the payment of accumulated Earned Academic Allowance (EAA) unpaid since 2009 to lecturers in the institution. The union’s demand was made known in its bulletin obtained by newsmen on Tuesday in Lagos. The demands, signed by its Secretary, Dr Tony Dansu and the Assistant Secretary, Dr Adeolu Oyekan, indicated that the EAA was a product of the ASUU/Federal Government Agreement of 2009, which redefined the minimum benchmark for university administration in Nigeria. President Trump  has confimred that his chief of staff,  John Kelly,  would step down by the end of the year. The departure of Kelly, who was brought in last year to impose order on the West Wing but found managing Trump an impossible task, had been rumored for months, and Trump announced it to reporters before departing for the Army-Navy football game in Philadelphia. A helicopter has crashed in eastern Sudan, killing a state governor and at least four other officials.   The helicopter exploded in flames after it hit a communications tower as it tried to land in the remote Al-Qadarif state and so far no official reason has yet been given for the crash.   A number of people were taken to hospital for treatment, state media reported, without giving more details. Among the dead are Al-Qadarif governor Mirghani Saleh, his cabinet chief, the local police chief and agriculture minister. Sudan's military fleet includes many aircraft bought from the former Soviet Union. Eight people were injured in October when two of its planes collided on the runway at the airport in the capital, Khartoum.  In September, two pilots were killed when a military jet crashed near Omdurman, Khartoum's twin city.

Nollywood actress,  Queeneth Agbor , has revealed she is fully in support of sex before marriage, as she doesn't want to end up with a man who is not sexually active.
